WHAT SHALL
WE DO?

Why did Peter answer their question the way he did? Peter gave the answer that Jesus himself gave, shouldn't we want the same? If you're question is the same as the frantic crowd why not ask the One who is doing the saving for the answer?

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:15-16)

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
(Matthew 28:18-20)

How can we know for sure what Jesus meant? We could say He meant what He said and that would be true? But how do we apply His answer to the question asked? Are there any examples that can help us in our desire for salvation? Yes! They are found in the book of Acts.
Much of the book of Acts gives a detailed history of cases of conversion,.

The cases which are recorded represent all the different levels of human society; all the different degrees of intellectual and religious culture; all the common occupations in life, and all the different countries and languages of the then known world. It would seem the design of this is to show the adaptation of the gospel of Christ to the conversion of all classes of people in keeping with what Jesus told them and us to do.

Jesus gave the message of salvation, the book of acts interprets exactly what He meant. Thus we again ask the question: "What shall we do?" And, again, we ask you to consider the God inspired answer.

Please consider carefully the following examples of conversion in the book of Acts that are in keeping with what Jesus said, and then decide for yourself
what you need to do to be saved.

Message From
Our Minister

"What shall we do?" is a question asked by a frantic crowd of people who had been listening to Peter preaching about Jesus. They didn't seem to have a problem with realizing there was something they had to do to be saved. Their interpretation of the message was that there was God's part and man's part when it came to salvation.

"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, for all whom the Lord our God will call."
With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation."

Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
(Acts 2:36-41)

May your answer be His!

With love in Jesus Christ,
